IBPS RRB Preparation Tips 2017 – IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection RRB(Regional Rural Banks) is an agency authorized to conduct a common written exam (CWE) for recruiting aspiring candidates to various vacancies in the rural banks. The post of office assistant and officers can be entered into by cracking the exam successfully. Here are the preparation tips and study plan

Exam Pattern:

Before we lay down the tips, let us understand the exam pattern. The exam for IBPS RRB Office Assistant preliminary exam has two papers namely:

IBPS Reasoning paper
IBPS numerical ability paper
Both papers are for 40 marks each and should be answered in 45 minutes together. The questions are all in objective type and should be answered with multiple choice answers.

The exam for Office Assistant Mains exam has the following papers to be answered:

IBPS RRB Reasoning Paper – 50 Marks
IBPS RRB General Awareness Paper – 40 Marks
IBPS RRB Numerical Ability Paper – 40 Marks
IBPS RRB English Language Paper – 40 Marks
IBPS RRB Hindi Language Paper – 40 Marks
IBPS RRB Computer Knowledge Paper – 20 Marks
For total marks of 200 marks, objective questions should be answered in 2 hours’ time duration.

The exam pattern for IBPS RRB Officers preliminary exam is as below:

Reasoning Ability
Quantitative Aptitude
Both these papers are for 40 marks each and should be answered in 45 minutes together similarly like the preliminary exam papers. These are also objective questions.

The exam pattern for IBPS RRB Officers Mains exam is as below:

For total marks of 200 marks, objective questions should be answered in 2 hours’ time duration.

For all the above examination papers, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. But if a question is left blank i.e. without giving any answer then it doesn’t entitle for negative marking.

 

1. Time Management: It is important to manage time. As you have noticed above the time given for prelims papers is 45 minutes and for the mains, paper is 2 hours. Considering the number of questions and marks, the time has to be managed well and wisely. The exam is going to be online and you should know where to take more time and where to answer quickly.

2. Mock tests: In order to practice well and get hold of the right answers, you should take a number of online mock tests. These will get you accustomed both to the online pattern as well as the questions. You can also understand how to answer and when to answer.

3. Shortcuts: While solving numerical problems and other answers to which solutions are tricky, there are some shortcuts which are very useful to solve long problems in a limited time duration. While preparing for the exams, learn the techniques for the shortcut and practice them well.

4. Reading: It is important to cultivate the habit of reading. As much as you read, it is easy to answer the general awareness paper. It also improves vocabulary and holds on language. You should regularly read newspapers, magazines, blogs and everything else you can read in order to gain knowledge about current affairs.

1. Reasoning: Reasoning is considered as the most loved subject amongst aspiring candidates for IBPS RRB. The focus should be more on the analytical part than on shortcuts. It is important to understand the concept to reason out a particular question. So basics should be strong and shortcuts are needed only when it has some benefits. Even if you forget the shortcut, if you have a strong basic knowledge, you will be able to solve easily. The questions are comprehension based and you should read the passage properly before answering. Also, you should read the passage quickly.

2. General Awareness: This is all about current affairs. A continuous update on the news and magazines will help you hit the right answer. This takes the least time. So dedicating some time in the study plan to read news can help a lot.

3. Quantitative Aptitude: These questions are analytical and need time. It is always good to practice well in order to save time. Solve as many previous year papers as possible and you should know that getting good marks in this section increases your overall chance of getting a good score.

4. Language: Choose a language which you are comfortable both to read and write. You should be able to understand and comprehend well in the chosen language. It makes it easier for you to answer tricky questions. Grammar is also important and should be revised every day.

5. Computer: This section has the least number of questions so as many you answer correctly, you can add up to your score. Concentrate on the basics of computer and some modern technology about gadgets which you can get from newspapers. Read the science section regularly.
