  1. The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal has announced a Commission to look after the issues related to the Parents Responsibility and Norms for Accountability and Monitoring. The bill makes it mandatory for state government employees to look after their parents and unmarried differently abled siblings who do not have their own sources of income.

Answer. The name of this bill is (PRANAM Bill).



2. The Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot launched the 2nd Edition of Indian Sign Language (ISL) Dictionary in New Delhi.

The Dictionary was brought about by a Research and Training Centre. Under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The second edition dictionary includes total 6000 words under the categories of academic, legal, medical, technical and everyday terms against the first edition which had about 3000 words.


Answer. Training Centre name is Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC)

 

3. The Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal has announced the creation of new railway zone for Andhra Pradesh, Southern Coast Railway Zone to be headquartered. The Southern Coast Railway zone would comprise of existing Guntakal, Guntur and Vijayawada divisions that currently fall under the South Central Railway and the South Central Railway will then consist of the Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Nanded divisions.


Answer. Southern Coast Railway Zone headquartered will be in Visakhapatnam

 

4. The Union Minister of Human Resources and Development Prakash Javadekar launched the Scheme for Higher Education Youth in Apprenticeship and Skills programme to provide industry-specific apprenticeship opportunities to fresh graduates.  It’s programme basket comprising of three initiatives of the HRD, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.  It’s focused towards students primarily from non-technical courses will introduce employable skills into their learning, promote apprenticeship as integral to education and also amalgamate employment facilitating efforts of the government into the education system.
